Medical Conference on Smoking Cessation

To celebrate World No Smoking Day USAID Georgia HCI project together with National Center of Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC) conducted medical conference for more than 100 primary health care providers of Tbilisi polyclinics on practical aspects of tobacco cessation and prevention. The conference was headed by the director of NCDC and trainings were conducted by the technical staff of the Project (Dr. Nato Shengelia and Dr. Ekaterine Cherkezishvili). The training module was developed and conducted by USAID HCI Project for Collaborative Improvement facilities and was institutionalized together with Georgian Respiratory Association as Continuous Professional Development program. The project hopes the training will support implementation of improved tobacco screening and modification best practices.
