Georgian Diaspora representative,  professor at Essen University, Dr. Zaza Katsarava conducted training for more than 100 primary care and ambulance doctors on modern management of stroke at Regional Clinical Hospital in Kutaisi. This is the result of ongoing collaboration between Georgian medical Diaspora and their Georgian counterparts and CI facility driven attempt to replicate successful model of improvement in other clinical areas.

Specifically, following the collaboration of USAID Health Care Improvement project and Regional Clinical Hospital in Kutaisi to improve care for Myocardial Infarction, the head of internal medicine department, neurologist Dr. Tamar Janelidze expressed willingness to spread model of quality improvement in stroke care. With support from the project she made baseline assessment and elaborated quality measures and presented the results at the medical conference of Georgian Medical Diaspora, held in June, 2013. At the conference, Dr. Katsarava invited Dr. Janelidze to conduct an internship in Germany with follow up infrastructure and capacity development support to the relevant Collaborative Improvement Hospital and other corporate members of My Family Clinic to implement modern stroke care at different levels of medical care.
