Memorandum of Understanding between USAID Health Care Improvement Project in Georgia and Acad. G. Chapidze Heart Center


USAID Health Care Improvement Project in Georgia and Acad. G. Chapidze Heart Center signed Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate and enhance the quality of medical services. Along with management and staff of the clinic and the project USAID Mission Director Stephen M. Haykin, USAID/Caucasus Health and Social Development Office Director, Dr Tamara Sirbiladze and Senior Health Systems and Financing Advisor, Dr. George Khechinashvili also participated in the ceremony.

This event is the part of the project effort to spread and institutionalize high impact best quality improvement practices countrywide. Under this initiative, Georgia USAID Health Care Improvement Project will share quality improvement (QI) implementation and evaluation tools, developed within the project with Acad. G. Chapidze Heart Center and will provide minimal technical assistance to the medical facilities to develop, implement and evaluate modern QI practices, enhance effectiveness and lower the cost of medical care. On the other hand, the center will share the results of QI interventions to the project, including lessons learnt and plans for the future improvements. Along Acad. G. Chapidze Heart Center the project have also signed MoU with Georgia largest medical corporations “My Family Clinic” (network of 40 hospitals in different regions of Georgia), several ambulatory clinics and two professional medical associations... Georgia HCI project hopes that such industry-driven partnerships will support spread and sustained improvement of quality of medical care and contribute to the GoG effort to improve health of Georgian population.

The event was featured in national TV channel as partnership between private healthcare facility and non-profit organization and highlight USAID’s contribution towards achieving the goal of ensuring access to high quality health care services in Georgia.
